The Team

Helen Simons
Director

Helen has been working within the Private Medical Insurance industry for 22 years. She was originally employed and trained by Ambassador Health Insurance which was owned by Abbey Life, a subsidiary of Lloyds Bank.

She worked for Ambassador from 1991 to 1995. She then moved on to set up an independent health insurance brokerage with two Abbey Life Independent Financial Advisors based in Central London.

In 2002, she was given the opportunity to once again set up an independent healthcare brokerage with two partners Jeffrey Joss and George Stern.

As Director, Helen’s remit is to provide prospective clients with a review of the healthcare market prior to the company’s renewal to identify whether or not the client is receiving the best value for money. For her existing clients she produces the same unique report each year at renewal if required.

Helen has a great passion for the work she does. She enjoys both building the business and helping clients as and when they have any problems with claims or accounting issues. Her many years of expertise enables her to deal with problems and find a fast, effective resolution.

Client Manager

Cheryl joined SJS Healthcare Associates in 2004 as a Telemarketer.  Drawing from her experience of over 20 years in Administration and also running her own small business she gradually took on more administrative duties, eventually engaging in a more client-facing role and is now our Client Manager.  With a background in software and web development she has been involved with the updating of our website and expanding our social media profile. 

Cheryl works closely with Helen Simons and is involved in the recruitment and training of staff, securing new clients, policy inceptions and renewals, account handling and reconciliation.

Cheryl’s interests include international travel, foreign languages, reading, personal development and live music.  She has a 9-year old daughter who represents her county as a promising young Tennis player.

Sharan Dhaliwal
Administrator

Sharan joined SJS in 2009 as an administrator and brought a wealth of experience with her. Her role here at SJS is crucial in providing support to both Client Manager Cheryl Boothe and Director Helen Simons.

She assists with many of the operational day to day duties, ranging from putting together reports for clients to liaising with clients and providers and managing telemarketers.

Sharan is also an experienced Henna, Hair and Make-Up Artist. She likes to keep fit & healthy and helps her husband in running a martial arts school.

George Stern FCA
Director

George has been running a Chartered Accountancy firm, Stern & Company, for over 25 years. During this time he has worked with a huge variety of businesses and individuals. He has always enjoyed dealing directly with clients and taking an important role within their companies to both enhance and protect their wealth.

Based on his experiences with many different businesses over the years, he has a wide knowledge of business protection products such as Key Man Insurance and Shareholder Protection.

Lucy Danon
Business Development Manager

Lucy originally worked for SJS back in 2002 when the company was first formed. She did some telemarketing for the company and was also instrumental in creating the company’s unique comparison report for clients.

Lucy then moved over to Stern & Company and became responsible for the marketing and business development within the firm. She has taken on the same role within SJS and deals with the company’s website, marketing materials and business development.

Mante Saakwa-Mante

Mante joined SJS Healthcare in 2010 as an administrator, assisting the team predominantly with organising all client and provider correspondence. Mante works closely with Sharan Dhaliwal, assisting with sending out membership packs and collating meeting notes.
